Turn Stage Manager on or off on your iPad
Use Stage Manager to resize windows to look the way you want, see multiple overlapping windows in a single view, tap to switch between apps, and more.
Turn Stage Manager on or off
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
- Tap the Stage Manager button .
You can also turn Stage Manager on or off from the Settings app:

- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Multitasking & Gestures.
- To turn Stage Manager on, select Stage Manager. To turn it off, select Off, or select Split View & Slide Over to multitask another way.
iPad models that support Stage Manager
You can use Stage Manager on these iPad models:
- iPad Pro 13-inch (M4)
- iPad Air 13-inch (M2)
- iPad Air 11-inch (M2)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd through 6th generation)
- iPad Pro 11-inch (1st through 4th generation)
- iPad Air (5th generation)
With iPadOS 16.2 or later, you can use Stage Manager to move apps and windows to an external display from these iPad models:
- iPad Pro 13-inch (M4)
- iPad Air 13-inch (M2)
- iPad Air 11-inch (M2)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th and 6th generation)
- iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd and 4th generation)
- iPad Air (5th generation)
